my boss isn't here today and i still have a mess of shit to do. bitter, bitter, bittercakes.
i do have to hand my company props, however. since all upper-upper management is at a "retreat" in Santa Barbara, they decided to throw a surprise party for us at some bar. free alcohol? sign me up. plus, the invite was very cool. and now i have another trinket with the company's logo on it for my desk. this one includes that gel stuff that's supposed to represent water. i've been messing with it all morning. (take a day off, OCD).
anyway...i always get sad when i start to see the bottom of my coffee cup. cause then it means i've really got to start to work. who else feels me on this? it's like, the saddest feeling ever. *tear*
big news for my little family. this Friday my sister will be arguing in front of the Oregon State Supreme Court. she's a public defender so, these cases don't just get on the docket themselves. i'm so proud of her. my parents are flying out to see her argue. being a little sister is kind of like always playing catch-up. you're always trying to be like your older sister. you always admire her perspective and grace, drive and confidence. but, maybe that's just me. i've always considered her my third parent, and the most influential one at that. in anycase, she set out to do what she wanted to do and is doing it with gusto. and she's only 27. she's just...the bee's knees, yall.
